Specialty chemicals company Lanxess is ready to host a two-day event devoted to the leather industry. The meeting will take place in Cologne (Germany) on January 10-11, and the ID Factory is glad to announce its attendance.
In 2016 Lanxess reached sales of EUR 7.7 billion and it currently employs about 19,200 individuals from 25 different countries. Focusing on development, additives, specialty chemicals and plastics, Lanxess has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI World and Europe).
As a company, we have already taken part to the 2017 an 2018 editions of Lanxess’ symposium. There, we had the chance to meet executives from the leading manufacturers from the apparel industry as well as representatives from important certification institutes.
This year we will have the chance to listen to the speeches of many valued experts, and their dissertations will cover many different aspects of the leather industry and its related subjects. Dr. Kleban from Lanxess will guide us through the latest leather regulatory requirements. Then, his coworker Dr. Rabe will debate the matter of odor and VOC in the automotive sector, while Dr. Dietrich will provide an overview on the latest image improving initiatives and trends in the leather industry.
Furthermore, Dr. De Rosa-Giglio from UNIC (the Italian National Union for the Tanning Industry) will talk about chrome and its alternatives in leather manufacturing, and Dr. Tortorra from the ZDHC Foundation will describe the new “Leather Waste Water Pilot” programme for tanneries. The issue of sustainability will be addressed further by Dr. Flowers from Authenticae, who will help us know better the biodegradability of different kinds of leather.
The ID Factory is eager to seize this valuable opportunity and take part in such a brilliant event: the exchange of views is crucial – and thanks to Lanxess it can be entertaining too.
